Quay walls. C17 and 1871, the foundation stone laid by Lord
Wodehouse during the Mayorship of WH Lean. Original part is
vertically-set drystone killas, later projecting pier is
granite ashlar with flight of granite steps.
HISTORY: this is possibly the oldest quay in Falmouth. It was
the landing point of the official despatches of the Trafalgar
victory and of Nelson's death whilst in the care of Lieutenant
Lapenotiaire, R.N. in 1805.
