Short terrace of 4 houses. Early to mid C19. Stucco on
probable rubble; hipped roof, asbestos slate to left and
concrete tile to right; brick central and end stacks.
Double-depth plan. Overall 6-window range. Giant fluted Roman
Doric columns flanking each pair. Plinth, recessed
round-arched architraves and impost string to ground floor and
flat architraves over sill string and shaped aprons to 1st
floor. Projecting eaves on paired brackets to panelled soffit.
Each pair of houses with symmetrical 3-window front with
central doorway plus lean-to porch at either end. Original
12-pane hornless sashes and fanlights over panelled doors.
Porches have fretted fronts and doorways with 2-centred arches
over fluted columns. House 3rd from left (No.4) has Gothic
style gabled porch with fretted sides and fretted 2-centred
arched truss on wall-plate brackets over slender columns.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
A notable design, distinguished by its use of giant Roman
Doric columns separating each house.
