FALMOUTH

SW73SE Penrose Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Early C19, extended mid C19. Killas rubble with
granite dressings; asbestos slate hipped roof sweeping lower
at rear; brick end stacks. Double-depth plan since rear
extension plus lean-to extension on the right. Probably in the
mid C19 the house was converted to 3 cottages but later
reinstated as a house. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window front.
Original hornless sashes with glazing bars. Central doorway
with original panelled door plus later blocked doorway on
either side, the blocked doorways and the window on the left
have brick jambs. Original mid C19 windows to end walls:
12-pane sash to left-hand return; 2-light casement and 16-pane
sash to lean-to return and 2 similar casements to ground floor
of rear. INTERIOR not inspected.
