Bank. 1866-67, with late C20 alterations. By Flockton &
Abbott. Ashlar with pink granite. Roof not visible. Classical
style.
2 storeys; 5 window range with recessed centre flanked by
pavilions. Rusticated first floor, festooned band at capital
level and dentilled cornice topped with open balustrade. In
the centre, 3 plain sashes with pseudo balustrades, flanked by
Corinthian pilasters. Each pavilion has a single sash flanked
by double Corinthian granite columns. Ground floor has 3
round-headed windows with rusticated surrounds and keystones,
and thin cast-iron mullions and transoms. Between them, square
Doric pilasters with short iron railings protecting their
pedestals. Pavilions have rusticated round-headed doorways
with panelled double doors and fanlights, flanked by double
granite Doric columns. To right, a narrow recess with a single
light window above and a doorway below, with a round window
above it.
INTERIOR refitted late C20, has Doric columns in banking hall.
