Rustic seat in grounds of Redwood at TQ 522451

Rustic seat. Built between 1810 and 1830 by William Wells. Timber framed
structure, 5 sides of an octagon with 5 rustic poles connected by
weatherboarding on brick plinth with exterior covered in heather and roof
thatched with wooden carved finial surmounted by C20 metal weathervane.
Interior has slatted seat with scalloped edges and brick pairing. One of a
number of garden features on the former Redleaf estate whose gardens are on
the English Heritage Register of Historic Parks and Gardens for Kent.
