14/171 Nos 22 and 24 (Gables Cottage
and The Gables)

House, late C17, rubble stone with ashlar dressings, with section
to south, (No 22), in rubble stone with rendered first floor.
Overall hipped Bridgwater tile roof with rear stacks. Two storeys
and attic. No 24 is formal 5-window front with 2 small sloping
dormers, flush quoins and 2-light hollow-moulded recessed mullion
windows with hoodmoulds. Centre door in bolection-moulded
surround with cornice, C20 door. C20 plastic casements. Red
brick lean-to on left end. No 22, to right, has two C20 casements
above, C20 casement and door below. Timber-framing was exposed
during renovation. This section may be older than main house.
