Pair of houses. Late C19. Rendered stone; slate roof. Back-to-back on plan.
2 storeys and attic. End stacks break through slope of roof; truncated.
Symmetrical 3-window fronts to both Nos 12 and 14. Cornice, lintel and sill bands,
quoining all picked out in black. Windows (with C20 casements in original openings)
under slightly cambered lintels with raised surrounds. Open lattice-work porches to
both houses. 3 string courses to end walls, that to street with paired attic
windows. Low lean-to extension away from roadside. Single (as opposed to terraced)
back-to-back cottages are rare; Nos 12-14 form an attractive group with Nos 4-6
and 8-10.
