Early C19 terrace of three storeys and basements, highest at left because of hill
slope. Slightly projecting 5-bay centre under pediment; 5-bay outer sections
project also. Red brick, with stone dressings including cornice and pediment
coping, ground-floor band, window architraves in centre section and cornices
to those ground floor. Sash windows, about half retaining glazing bars, have
gauged flat brick arches and stone cills. Blank round panel in pediment.
Five or six panel doors with patterned oblong fanlights. Varied doorcases,
some classical, some simple architraves, some late C19 or early C20 additions
and some without any door case. No. 14 and Rochford Home have later bay windows,
square and canted. Wrought-iron hand and arm railings. No. 22 has good contemporary rear extensions. Long, round-arched staircase windows behind.
