GV II
Former cottage, converted to shop with upper floor disused and inaccessible at time
of survey (May 1986). Probably late C17/early C18 with C20 alterations. Rendered
stone rubble and cob. Thatch roof, hipped at front end, gable end to rear.
Unrendered lateral stone stack with tapered cap towards front left side.
Plan: original plan entirely obscured by C20 conversion into shop in C20, which
involved removal of all internal partitions and staircase and the demolition of the
rear gable end stack. Built at right angles to road, the cottage probably consisted
of 2 rooms, the front room heated by lateral stack to left side with 3 steps down to
rear room heated by former rear gable end stack.
2 storeys. 2-light casement, 6 panes per light above large C20 shop front. C19 2-
light casement 6 panes per light with horizontal 8 paned window above to right side.
C20 extension to rear.
Interior: entirely altered in C20. Upper floor and roofspace not accessible.
