(North Side)

6/185 Bonis Hall

14/4/1967
II

Formerly house, now offices: early C19 with C20 internal alterations
and additions. Pebble-dashed brick, Kerridge stone-slate roof, 6
brick chimneys with tall rhomboidal stacks, 2-storey, symmetrical
7-bay south front (2:3:2). End pairs of bays project forward under
coped gables with ball and urn finials. 12-pane sashes in simple
stone architraves. Central doorcase with a triangular pediment
contains a glazed door and is flanked by long 18 pane sashes, with
12-pane sashes above. The eaves are coped to give a weak
castellation. Behind is a square tower with a low pyramidal roof
carrying an open hexagonal bell cote on thin wooden columns with a
copper cupola and weathervane. To right are C20 additions. Centre of
west front is a semi-circular 2-storey bow with delicate iron radial
glazing in the fanlight.
