ST 76 NE SWAINSWICK GLOUCESTER ROAD (east side)

5/223 Turnpike Cottage

G.V. II

Toll house for turnpike trust. Early - mid C19. Rubble with ashlar front to
the road; slate roof with overhanging eaves, hipped over west end; ashlar stacks
with cornice. 2 storeys. Two bays to north and south sides with half-hexagonal
west end: 2-light casement windows on chamfered mullions and surrounds, to
sides of west end. C20 door on south elevation and C20 extension to east.
