junction with Anglesea

Milestone: probably 1824. Buff sandstone with cast-iron plaque.
Semi-circular headed rectangular stone, standing on end, with
cast-iron plaque recording distances to London 176m, Macclesfield 8m,
and Stockport 4m.

A similar example is on London Road (q.v.) and 6 others survive
further south on the former Hazel Grove-Macclesfield turnpike.
