2/56 North Lodge and gate-piers to front
GV II
Lodge at north entrance to Trebartha (qv North Hill Parish) and gate-piers to front.
Circa mid to late C19. Stone rubble. Steeply pitched slate roof with crested ridge
tiles and pierced wavy barge boards. Central axial stack of stone rubble with three
diagonally set chimney pots.
Plan: Irregular 'T' shape plan with entrances through C19 porches on the left and
right hand sides. Gothic style.
Exterior: Single storey. Irregular single window elevations with steeply pitched
gable ends to front and sides, each gable decorated with ornate pierced wavy barge
boards and centrally placed canted bay windows. On the left and right hand sides,
steeply pitched gabled porch with chamfered 2-centred arches and decorative pierced
bargeboards.
To front are the gate-piers originally for the drive to Trebartha Hall. The piers
are of ashlar stone with moulded triangular granite caps of unusual design, similar
however to others used by the estate in Trebartha Village (qv North Hill parish).
