Cottage, Dated 1684. Random rubble local stone, quoins, thatched roof hipped to left, brick stack right gable end.
Plan; 2-cell. Two storeys, 2 bays, first floor 2-light C19 wooden casements flanking central date stone inscribed '1684
GB', ground floor left C20 half-glazed dour with sidelight, 4-light hollow chamfered Ham stone mullioned window with
moulded architrave and hood mould. Right return lit ground floor only, left blocked inglenook single light window with
architrave end hood mould remaining, left coeval 2-light mullioned window. Right return lit ground floor left only, C20
window presumably a replacement of former stairlight; later single storey; addition at rear. Interior: ground floor only
seen, chamfered lintel to fireplace, chamfered stone jambs right, one to left possibly rebuilt, remains of plank and
muntin screen set hard up against left jamb, bread oven right, 2 muntins only remain of former partition to unheated
room at rear which now opens into addition. Chamfered lateral beam without stops; stair not seen but believed to be in
original position. A very interesting survival of a late C17 cottage.
