Pair of C18 cottages, back to back. Painted and roughcase brick. Plain tile roof
with gabled end and brick dentil eaves. One storey and attic. Two window ranges.
Mullion/transom casements. No 55 has later gabled dormers and central plank door.
No 56 has modern windows and door inserted and large modern bay to left. Brick end
chimney stacks. Included for group value. Not including No 56A adjoining east.
