Large shop with domestic accommodation. 1886 date plaque
inscribed 'WPP'. Asbestos slatehanging on studwork to front,
otherwise stucco on masonry with moulded string between upper
floors; steep asbestos slate hipped roof with gabled roof
dormers with 4-pane 2-light casements; projecting eaves with
paired brackets to corners; brick end stacks. Double-depth
plan.
3 storeys at the front, 2 storeys at the rear. Symmetrical
3-window street front. Paired 2-pane horned sashes; ground
floor with complete original large 2:1:2-bay
4-light-plus-sidelights shop front with recessed central
doorway with pair of glazed elliptical-arched doors with
overlight between 2-light sidelights with quadrant lights next
to door; granite stall risers and end piers; elliptical-arched
lights; shaped mullions with returned consoles between bays;
moulded entablature with paired end consoles under a moulded
cornice. Left-hand return is a 2-window entrance front with
wide recessed central-1st floor segmental-arched pilastered
doorway approached by steps with turned balustrade; 6-panel
door with overlight; shop front returns for 2 bays, 4 lights
in similar detail to street front; 1st-floor windows within
moulded surrounds with moulded hoods; 2nd floor windows in
simpler keyed surrounds, all with 4-pane horned sashes on
sills over brackets. INTERIOR not inspected. Fine quality and
unusually complete shop front.
