Pair of houses in row. Mid C19. Stucco; asbestos slate roof
with hipped end on the right, and projecting eaves at the
front; brick chimney over left-hand party wall, rendered
chimney on the right; cast-iron ogee gutters. Pair of
mirror-image-plan houses with parallel entrances together in
the centre, each house with a reception room at the front and
service rooms behind. 2-storeys over basement; 4-window range,
roughly symmetrical. Original 12-pane hornless sashes. No.19
(left) is plain stucco; No.20 has stucco rustications. 2
doorways together in the centre under one porch with
cantilevered cornice with modillions; original (but different)
panelled doors with overlights. INTERIORS not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: shallow basement forecourts have front
retaining walls surmounted by iron railings with carved
fleur-de-lis finials.
