Includes: No.22 PAYTON STREET.
Two town houses, one now office/dwelling. Brick with buff
headers, part painted; slate roof with brick end stacks and
cross-axial stack. Georgian style. 3 storeys; 4-window range.
Top modillioned brick cornice. No.7 has central round-headed
entrance with reeded pilasters and fluted brackets to open
pediment, fanlight with wrought-iron grille over half-glazed
door. Windows have sills, and rubbed brick flat arches, over
plate glass horned sashes to ground floor, 3 windows to No.22,
12-pane sashes to 1st floor and 6-pane sashes to 2nd floor.
Left return has segmental-headed entrance with plain surround,
overlight and side lights to fielded-panel door. Rear has
gabled wing and flanking round-headed stair windows with
sashes. Part of the early C19 development of the northern part
of Stratford, called New Town.
