Small stable. C17. Timber-framed, standing on C20 brick plinth
and weatherboarded with pyramidal peg-tiled roof. Rectangular
14.60m x 5.60m standing 7.70m N of the Church of All Saints
(qv). Simple C20 boarded doors in centre of N & S sides.
INTERIOR: studs have straight primary braces down to sill from
each unjowled corner post. Central N-S tie-beam over
doorheads. Roof of simple side purlin form, pyramid formed by
2 hips nearly meeting at apex - 2 collars below: studs, wall
plates and tie-beam of stout scantling and bear redundant
joints from an earlier arched braced, wattle and daubed
structure. Stalls, 4 divisions survive - 2 complete on W side
with frames and vertical boarding. 2 on E side have only
frames still standing. Brick floor throughout. The stable with
the Church of All Saints and the Freman monument (qv) form a
group.
