GV II

Barn. Late C17. Timber frame weatherboarded on red brick sill
walls. Steep old red tiled roofs. A 1O-bay double barn facing
S. Central framed division wall. Projecting gabled porch in the
middle bay of each half. Low weatherboarded lean-to pantiled
extension between the porches, and a similar tiled extension to
the left of the left hand porch. Double doors to porches with
pigeon holes to small loft in gable over riqht hand porch doors.
Small square winnowing door in upper part of rear wall in each
porch bay. Butt-purlin roof construction with angled struts and
collar to each truss. Unjowled posts and heavy square softwood
tie-beams. Important landscape feature in views along the river
valley and from the Old Churchyard.
