School, now house. Early to mid C18; altered. Dressed sandstone, stone
slate roof. Double-depth plan with short outshut to rear of right-hand end.
Two storeys and 3 bays, symmetrical with rusticated quoins, moulded plinth,
1st floor drip-mould; wide central doorway opening now partly filled with
modern common brick; 2 windows at ground floor, both coupled, with raised
sills, plain lintels, and altered glazing; 3 square windows at 1st floor, all
with raised surrounds, that in the centre with a blank panel or apron framed
by vertical strips, and all now 2-light casements. Gable copings with
kneelers. Left gable wall has external steps to ist floor, the steps
incorporating at ground floor a porch with a Tuscan column making the right-
hand corner; parapet protecting steps, chamfered doorway at 1st floor.
Right-hand gable wall has 3 windows at ground floor and one above, all with
raised surrounds. Rear has, inter alia, rusticated quoins like those at
front, and rear wall chimney. (Both front and rear have marks of former
additions, now removed).
