Pair of houses in row. Probably mid C18, but re-fenestrated in
early C19. Portland ashlar, slate roof. Probably built as one
house, with mullioned windows, similar to No 135 (qv)
adjoining, but now in two small properties. Two storeys and
attic, each 1-windowed. All windows are set to flush plat band
surrounds, to No 137 are 6-pane, and to No 139, 15-pane sashes
Raking domer with 12-pane sash to No 139 only. Central paired
doors under remains of a moulded architrave to former door: No
137 is C19 four-panel, moulded, and No 139 is 6-panel part
glazed. To right is stone stack to skirt and capping, brick
stack left. Interior not inspected. Subsidiary features: from
left party boundary a wall in large stone block to c 1.3m
height runs forward to low front boundary. One of the best
group of houses remaining in Underhill.
