Shops with living accommodation above. Probably built in
1890s. Solid, rendered walls; wooden bay windows at the front.
Asbestos slated roof with red ridge tiles. Red brick chimney
on left side wall. 4 storeys. 3 windows wide. Ground storey
has late C20 shopfronts of no architectural interest. Upper
storeys have canted bay window at either end, rising above
eaves level to a hipped roof. In centre, plain windows with
hood moulds. All windows except middle one in second storey
have sashes, the upper sashes with margin panes. Bay windows
have crenellated transoms and transom lights with coloured
glass; bracketed cornices between storeys, the spaces between
the brackets filled with quatrefoil panels. Prominent eaves
cornice, carried round the bay windows. Latter have ornate
iron finials on the roofs. INTERIOR not inspected. Included
for group value.
