Houses. Early C19. Brick; shallow pitch Welsh slate roof; 2
brick double ridge stacks and one end stack. 5-unit,
double-depth plan.
3-storeys and basements; 8-window range: 6/6 sashes with
arched heads under gauged brick flat arches, except far left,
which has segmental arch; wider 4/4 sashes over in similar
settings, except far left, which has 3/3 sash; brick corbels
to eaves.
Ground floor has 6 segmental arches under stone band; 2nd and
5th from right form stuccoed entrances, with pairs of
panelled, part-glazed doors with swagged fanlights; remainding
arches have recesses under, with 8/8, round-headed sashes in
brick panels with segmental arches.
Left unit, separated by pilaster, has canted bay window with
1/1: 3/3: 1/1 sashes and, to right, half-glazed door with
fielded panels and overlight, under segmental arch. Stuccoed
basements have windows recessed under round-headed arches.
Rear elevation similar, with twin rear entrances under slate
roofed porches.
C19 cast-iron railings with finials and mace-headed pillars,
with entrance gates, extend along the whole front, from No.73,
to attach to No.85, with lengths dividing the frontages of
Nos.73/75, 75/77, 79/81 and 83/85. The main section is on a
base of yellow brick with chamfered coping and stone heads and
post-sockets.
