Farmhouse; late C16 with mid C16 core, and an extension of early C19. 3-cell
lobby entrance plan. 2 storeys and attics. Timber framed and plastered with
C19 herringbone pargetting in panels; some C19 underbuilding in painted red
brick. Plaintiled roofs; a C17 axial chimney of red brick and an end chimney
with a C20 rebuilt shaft. Late C18 or early C19 gabled 2-storey porch at
lobby entrance: timber framed, roughcast, plaintiled roof; a round arched
outer doorway and recessed entrance door with 6 fielded panels. Some good
unmoulded C16 framing:close-studding, chamfered floor joists, 2-tier wind-
braced butt purlin roof. The service cell, to rear, has a mid C16 core. This
probably began as a 2-bay hall of which an open truss remains; the roof was
rebuilt upon raised walls in C19. A C19 dairy/bakehouse range of l 1/2 storeys;
painted red brick, and plaintiled roof.
