walls to Ormesby Old Hall

Stables and forecourt walls. Walls 1735, stables early C19. Brick. 4 brick
piers with square stone coping and urns. Western 2 piers form entrance to
drive in front of house. Eastern pair form entrance to stable yard. Between
central piers a brick wall pierced by round-headed pedestrian door. Dentil
eaves cornice. Brick wall runs north to house containing stable yard on one
side : plinth course and cornice with pilaster strips at regular intervals.
Stables contain stable yard to other side linked by short stretch of wall to
eastern gate pier. Stables are single storey with hipped slate roof. 3 C20
garage doors close original carriage bays to right. To left are 3 semi-
circular loose box windows with multiple mullions. Between 2 of them a doorway
below semi-circular overlight. Interior retains 2 complete loose boxes and
fittings.
