Hotel and public house. Probably C18 remodelled in late C19 or early C20. Stone rubble,
rendered and painted. Slate roof gable ends. Brick axial and end stacks on the
front slope of the roof.
Plan: Original plan considerably altered. Double depth arrangement with projecting
wings to rear left and right forming an overall 'U' shaped plan. The front range has
been remodelled to form a large open bar. There is a partition on the left hand side
dividing the hotel reception area from the main bar.
Exterior: Two storeys and attic. Asymmetrical 4-window front the right hand end
obscurred by the shop which adjoins on right. Moulded string course to first floor and
deep moulded overhanging eaves. Entrance to right of centre with C20 panelled door.
Flanked by two sashes, the top lights of 12-panes and bottom lights of 2-panes. The
door and window openings have curved hood moulds. Two full gabled dormers with 16-pane
sashes lighting attic.
Interior: Ground floor remodelled in C20 to form one large bar. First floor not inspected.
