783-1/6/90 (North side)
25/06/73 Nos.182 AND 184

GV II

Pair of cottages, now one dwelling. Probably mid C18; altered
and probably raised. Coursed thin sandstone rubble at ground
floor and coursed squared sandstone above, with stone slate
roof and brick chimneys. Transitional one-and-a-half depth
2-unit plan with rear outshut. Two low storeys, 1+1 windows;
doorway at left end with thin lintel (and C20 door), and
patched masonry in place of former doorway at right-hand end;
low oblong windows at ground floor with thin lintels and C20
casements (probably replacing 3-light windows, perhaps sliding
sashes), and small square 2-light casements above. Ridge
chimney at junction. Rear: 2 doorways and 3 windows all with
thin lintels, and 2 small 2-light windows above. Forms part of
interesting group at Garnett Lees.
