GV II

Chapel. 1896-9 by Sir Leonard Stokes. Squared and coursed limestone with ashlar
dressings; gabled artificial stone slate roof. Free Perpendicular style.
Four-bay chapel has trefoiled lights to sides and vestry with plain chamfered
lights to north-east; Baroque-style bellcote to north-east with keyed arch set
in open pediment. Corner buttresses. West end: figure of St. Francis set in
niche above shallow-arched 4-light Perpendicular-style window with cusped
lights; narthex has parapet with ball finials and two -light trefoil-headed
windows, Entered from 1960s extension to south-east. Interior noted as having
vaulted plaster ceiling, marble screen, altar and reredos.
