Brick, mostly rendered, and ashlar front extension. Welsh
slate roof with brick and rendered brick ridge stacks.

single-storey extension. This is in ashlar and is a 6-window
range of wooden mullion and transom windows to left and sashes
arranged as a tripartite window to right. Central 2-leaved
door with large fanlight set in arch within doorcase with
Tuscan columns supporting a broken pediment. Plinth, cill

left return. Main range behind has gabled ends with slightly
recessed centre and is a 4-window range of bay windows, those
to ends canted, and to centre round. 2-storey bay to left has
C20 windows below with cross-mullioned or transomed windows
above with pediments. Similar bay to right above the
extension. Shaped bargeboards and pendants. Sides have various
mullion and transom windows and sash windows with glazing
bars. Similar windows to interior of central yard. Interior:
the principal feature is the very fine quality entrance and
staircase hall in the c1900 extension, with panelling, applied
canvas frieze above, painted or stencilled with swags and
Renaissance details, and moulded ceiling. Elaborate fireplace
with beaten copper hood and back panel with art nouveau
repousse decoration. The windows and doors all have very fine
and imaginative art nouveau stained glass, with rose trees,
birds and other flowers and plants and employing clear glass
as part of the design. Hall leads through triple-arcade to
staircase with elaborately carved wooden balustrade: an art
nouveau version of a Carolean stair. Interior includes further
ceiling decoration in wood or plaster, including that in the
chapel, and an elaborately carved mid C19 marble fireplace in
the drawing room. Further stained glas in the heads of the 2
bay windows over the entrance hall, and in windows on left
side.
