Landue Lodge

Entrance lodge. Dated 1812 with minor later additions and alterations. Roughly
coursed slate-stone, hipped slate roof supported on braced rustic wood posts square
plan. Picturesque Gothic style. Ground floor has 2 leaded latticed windows with
Y-tracery and wooden shutters in segmental pointed surrounds with wedged voussoirs.
Ledged door in Tudor-arched surround to left side and 4-panel door in lean-to to
right side. Slate-stone cobbled path-way under verandah. Each gable has similar
window to those on ground floor with fretted lead bargeboards and circular slate
pendants, front right inscribed "1823". Central cruciform red brick ridge stack.
C20 lean-to attached to rear is not of special architectural interest. Stands at
north-west entrance to Landue (qv).
