Newton Cap or Bishop Skirlaw's Bridge.

This view, taken on January 18th, 2018, is looking south-east along the line of the 1388 bridge towards Newton Cap and the main built-up area of Bishop Auckland. In 1900, two cantilever footpaths were installed on both sides of the bridge, but the western (right-hand side) one was removed in 2002. The 1995 conversion of the nearby Newton Cap Viaduct has helped to reduce the traffic volume on Bishop Skirlaw's medieval structure.
