Pair of semi-detached houses, now flats. c1825. Stucco over
brick, roofs concealed behind parapets, stacks on returns.
No.1 abutting No 1A Waterloo Street (qv), No.2 returned to
Brunswick Street East. 4 storeys over basement, 3 bays each,
double bow fronted with entrances in centre, moulded cornice
with solid pilaster parapet, flat string courses, sash
windows, third floor 9-pane, second floor 12-pane, first floor
18-pane in moulded surrounds with continuous cast-iron
balconies linking the bows, ground floor 12-pane sash windows
flanking central flat-roofed enclosed pilaster porch with
dentil-moulded cornice, arched head opening sustained by
central support, rectangular fanlights to 6-panel doors.
Cast-iron railings returned from porch along street frontage.
