House, now shop and dwelling with wall to the rear (east).
Early and mid C19. Painted rough limestone ashlar and
rubblestone. Ham Hill stone coping to parapet wall,
shallow-pitch roof (unseen).
2 storeys. 2-window range to No.2 to the left, which is
ashlar; single range to Byrnes, which is rubblestone. No.2
curves back to meet No.6 (qv) to the left (west). The first
floor has early C19 eight/eight-pane sashes, that on the curve
is in a curved frame, above a C20 glazed shop door; to its
right is a plate-glass window. Byrnes has a late C19
three-light casement to the centre of the first floor and a
2/1-pane sash under a wooden lintel below; to the left is a
C20 Tudor-style door and a small C20 bathroom window to the
far right. INTERIOR not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: a limestone rubble wall approx 2m high is
attached to the right and fronts West Street for approx 30m.
