Milestone against E wall of St Peter's Church

Milestone. Circa 1742 for Wadesmill Turnpike Trust. Square
Portland Stone pillar about 400 x 400'mm and 600 mm high. Broken
at mid height and repaired. Holes in E face for fixings of iron
plate c1804, now missing. OS records inscription 'Royston 7:
Ware 10'. (Branch Johnson (1970) 109-10, 187).
