Early C18 front to older house, probably of C17 early. From rear a
double, high pitched tiled roof with ridges at right-angles to road and
half-hipped gable ends. 3 tall chimney shafts set diagonally on central
stack. Old timber work in carriageway including a C17 carved, grotesque
figure as a bracket. There is a further, long, C17 rear extension with
weatherboarding on 1st floor. Red brick front, with a few bluish headers,
of 3 storeys, 6 windows. Brick pilasters with moulded capitals support
moulded, brick cornice at 2nd floor level. Brick parapet masks roof.
Gauged, flat brick arches to sash windows with glazing bars in near-flush
moulded frames, on 1st and 2nd floors. Ground floor has modern, but seemly,
shop window at left, modern door with side window in centre and arched
carriage entrance at right. .
Nos 1 to 25 (odd) form a group.
