14 terraced houses. c.1830-1840. Beige and brown stock bricks
(no. 8 red stock bricks) set in Flemish bond (nos. 5 & 11
painted); roofs obscured by parapet (no. 9 roof removed);
brick party-wall stacks. Symmetrical terrace, centre block
(nos. 5-10) in recess. Three storeys with basement; 2 windows
each, no. 14 with additional full-height entrance bay.
Side-hall entrance plan with staircase (no. 9 with gutted
interior). Low steps rise to entrance in left bay (no. 14 with
entrance set-back to right): doorway with simple jambs
carrying corniced-head, original 2 or 4-panelled door (C20
doors to nos. 2, 4, 6, 8, 12), rectangular overlight (oval
pattern to nos. 1, 2, 8, 9, 10) and simple moulded stucco
hood. Ground-floor 8/8 sashes with margin lights (no. 7 3/3
sashes; nos. 8 & 11 C20 sashes). Upper floors with architraves
(nos. 5, 7 & 9 architraves removed; nos. 6, 8 & 14 architraves
altered and rebuilt; nos. 10, 11, & 13 2nd-floor architraves
removed). 1st floor with stucco sill band to full-length 6/6
sashes, cornices (no. 9 sashes and window surrounds removed)
and individual iron balconies with Neo-classical style pattern
to iron railings. 2nd floor with 6/6 sashes (no. 7 2/2 sashes;
no. 9 sashes removed; no. 10 8/8 sashes). Stucco moulded
cornice (nos. 6, 9, 10 removed) and parapet with coping stone.
Attached iron railings with urn finials.
