GV II

Two houses. Late C18 or early C19. Red Flemish-bond brickwork
and large clay plain tile, gabled roof. 2 storeys with attics
and cellars. 2 ridgeline stacks, one C20 rebuild and 2 hipped
dormers with 2-light casements, that to No.61 with small panes
and No.62 with asymmetrical right vent. Flanks are of painted
boarding. Gutter concealed behind moulded timber cornice.
EXTERIOR: first floor has 2 large square flush, double-hung
sash windows with moulded surrounds and small panes. 3 blind
window recesses interspersed with windows and all with steeply
raked rubbed brick arches. Ground floor has 2 similar
double-hung sash windows and two C20 pedimented doorcases on
panelled pilasters. Doors are recessed at head of flight of 3
steps and have 6 panels, upper 2 glazed. Opening with moulded
surround to yard passage with rectangular glazed fanlight.
Painted plinth with 2 cellar vents with iron grilles. INTERIOR
not inspected.
