Includes: No.13 NEW STREET.
Pair of houses. 1861. Builder: Thomas Hewins. Brick with buff
headers and stucco dressings; slate roof with brick end stacks
and cross-axial stack. Georgian style. 2 storeys; 3-window
range. Top brick cornice. Elliptical-headed entry to left end
has plank door; entrance to its right has moulded doorcase
with cornice to 4-panel door. Windows have sills, and
rusticated wedge lintels with keys over 12-pane sashes. Right
return to New Street has brick eaves. Central entrance with
frieze and consoled cornice, stained-glass overlight to
one-fielded- and one-flush-panel door. Blind windows to ground
and 1st floors, but central 1st-floor window has 2-light
small-paned casement and attic has 2 segmental-headed windows
with small-paned casments. Part of the early C19 development
of the south part of Stratford.
