Pair of town houses. 1820s. Brick with buff headers and stucco
dressings; slate roof with brick cross-axial stack and end
stack. L-plan. Georgian style. 2 storeys; 5-window range,
No.2A a symmetrical 3-window range. Facade articulated by 5
giant elliptical-arched recesses. Plain eaves. Round-headed
entrances have rusticated archivolts with keys, fanlights with
radial glazing bars over 6-flush-panel doors. Windows have
sills, and rusticated wedge lintels with keys over 12-pane
sashes, blind central 1st-floor window to No.2A. C20 plain
iron railings on low ashlar walls. 3-window left return has
end stack. College Street is part of the development of the
land on which the medieval priests' college stood until 1799,
in an area of good quality early C19 housing.
