Statue of Edward VII. 1908. By Robert Bridgeman. Ashlar. Round
plinth has entablature with rosettes to frieze and dentilled
cornice; 4 projections support pilaster strips with scrolled
bases and lion's masks holding rings with pendants of fruit
and panels with names of Empire dominions: CANADA, INDIA,
S.AFRICA and AUSTRALIA. Front has lettering: EDWARD VII with
crown above and Lichfield arms below. Cap has cornice ball
finials. Statue of king in garter robes, bare-headed and with
sceptre.
