11/66 Coach House Bar approximately
50m north of Bibury Court Hotel
GV II
Formerly stables; now public bar. Late C16; early and later C20
alterations. Random rubble limestone; stone slate roof. Single-
storey with former loft. Cross roll saddles to parapet gabled
ends, west having indications of former doorway to ground floor,
now with C20 casement; 2-light recessed cavetto mullioned casement
above with hoodmould. East end also altered. Early features
clearly visible on north side include blocked Tudor arched doorway
with 2 flanking blocked Tudor arched loft openings. Further
blocked Tudor arched doorway in gabled loft dormer; small Tudor
arched recess below. Two C20 two-light lancets inserted on south
side; C20-built loft stair. Although altered, this building
appears to be an unusually early stable) contemporary with earliest
part of Bibury Court Hotel (q.v.) with which it is grouped.
