ST 6601 CERNE ABBAS ABBEY STREET, (west side)

Former abbey tenements, now attached private house. Early C16,
with C19 and later re-fashioning. Knapped flint and banded
stone plinth, plastered walls, jettied. Moulded stone corbelling
at party-wall, C16. Brick stack at ridge centre. Two storeys.
4 windows; ground floor; garage entrance, C20; blocked door-
way; bow-window with curve-framed sashes with glazing-bars of
2-, 3- and 2-lights, reeded wooden cill, early C19. 3-light
casement with glazing-bars, right of centre. First floor
windows: 2-light wooden casements with wood cills. Front
door at centre, 2-leaf with flush-panels and top lights over.
Interior: moulded ceiling-beams, C16. Stone fireplaces with
four-centred heads, C16. Interior not fully inspected, roof-
construction may be important. Refer to:
