Row of 4 cottages. C17. Rendered rubble walls probably incorporating some cob.
Gable ended thatch roof. 3 brick stacks, 2 are axial, 1 is at the right-hand end.
Plan: each cottage is basically a 1-room plan although some C20 subdivisions have taken place and some C19 and C20 rear additions built.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical low 1 : 1 : 1: 1-window front. Verbena, to
the left, has a C19 2-light casement on each floor with plank door to the right
below a tile hood. Brook Cottage next to it has 2 C19 casements with an early C20 plank door to the right which also has a small hood. No. Rosecote has a circa late C18 horizontal sliding sash on the ground floor to the left with a C20 2-light casement on each floor to the right. At the centre is a leanto C20 porch
with a glazed door. No.2 Rosecote at the end, has 2 C20 2-light casements and a
C20 part-glazed door under a hood to the left. Probably C19 taller slate-roofed
addition at the right-hand end.
Interior: inaccessible at time of survey but may contain original features such
as ceiling beams, fireplaces and roof timbers.
