Schoolhouse, 1645 and 1710, converted to cottage. English garden wall
bond brown brickwork with graded stone-slate roof. 1½ storeys, 2
windows, symmetrical. Door of 6 raised and fielded panels; replaced
wooden 3-light leaded casements; plain 3-course band at 1st floor;
stone above doorway inscribed Deo et Ecclesiae hanc domunculum in usum
scholae humilime dedicat Ri: Comberbach 1710 postea datavit 1645; on
cill of dedication stone RESTAURATA 1883. A horizontally sliding sash
in lower storey of left gable end and 2 in upper storey, all leaded;
mid C20 oriel inserted in right gable. Replaced empty square belfry
above right gable; rendered chimney on left gable.
Interior, altered during conversion, not inspected.
Part of an attractive group around forecourt to churchyard.
