House. C18 or earlier, extended and remodelled in the C19 and C20. Rendered and
stucco to front, slatehung to seaward side, right, otherwise painted rubble or
rendered. Scantle slate roofs mostly hipped or gable ended sprocketted eaves at the
front. Brick chimneys over cross wall and gable end of rear right hand wing and over
the right-hand side wall.
Plan: overall irregular U-shaped plan comprising main 3-room range with service wing
at roughly right angles behind either end plus circa 1900 square 1 room plan tower
projecting in front and to the right of the right hand end with an octagonal turret
on its right hand side and in the angle behind a 2 room plan single storey C20
extension. Gothic style windows.
Exterior : 2 storeys. Overall slightly irregular 4 window north-west front with
squat stuccoed embattled tower projecting on the right. Doorway towards right with
6-panel door with sidelights within C20 porch. 3 light casement over the doorway and
at ground floor left, otherwise 2-light casements except single light left of
doorway. Windows to this front and the principal windows of the seaward (south-west)
front are C19 with Gothic traceried lights, or C20 copies, otherwise mostly horned
sashes with glazing bars. The tower, right has dumb-bell pistol loop lights: 3 to
the front and 1 in the left hand wall. On the right of the tower is an octagonal
slate-hung turret with steep octagonal roof, mid-floor cornice and eaves cornice.
