2 storeys with slate roof, modillioned eaves, red brick front of later C18, 3 windows
to 1st floor, sash, in narrow cases almost flush with the face, flat arched heads
with keystone and stone cills on 2 small, brackets. These windows are unevenly
spaced with 2 towards the south end, ground floor openings similarly spaced with
an early C19 3 light window left of the entrance and a wide single light on the
other side. Simple doorway with a late pedimented hood on cut brackets. Good
door 4 fielded and 2 incised panels. Series of brick outbuildings, including a
bakery at rear.

Nos 36 to 40 (even) Church Street form a group with Stratford House, Mill Lane
and all the listed building in the Market Square.
