SU 78 NE HAMBLEDEN HAMBLEDEN VILLAGE

GV II

Three houses and shop. Cross wing at right end is late C16-C17 remodelled
C19,remainder mid-late C19. Right wing is of flint; remainder has
flint ground floor and roughcast upper storey. Tiled roofs, brick
chimneys. 1½ storeys, approximately 5 bays. Outer bays are gabled, the
right bay projecting. Wooden casements with single horizontal glazing
bars, irregular to ground floor, 2-light to upper storey. 4 upper windows
to centre are in gabled semi-dormers. Right bay has C20 bowed shop
window, and half-glazed door in left side. C19 6-panelled top-lit doors to
left and centre, both with small gabled porches. Lean-to to right with
4-light wooden casement. Inside right wing the main wall posts, wall-plates,
tie beams and trusses of a C16-C17 structure are visible. This wing also
has original wind-braces and heavy transverse joists.
