2.
C18 altered in C19. Main front is to the south facing the River Thames. 2
storeys, brick, 3 bays, the outer of which are taken up by 2 full height
canted window bays of late C19 date, and not really in keeping with the
original proportion of the house. The centre doorway is probably original
with 6 fielded panels, and a fine fanlight. In front there has been erected
a porch with Ionic columns and capitals in light coloured stone. Half hipped
slate roof. The western flank constitutes in effect a 2nd front to the house
though in 2 sections, and it is likely that the northern part was built later.
In all 5 windows, glazing bars. On the right a verandah to the ground floor,
and on the left a modern entrance in suitable style. Slate roof continues,
and that part to north is half hipped.
