Farmhouse. c1700; altered. Coursed squared sandstone, slate roof, brick
chimney. Three-unit lobby-entry plan. Three storeys and 3 bays; doorway at
junction of 2nd and 3rd bays (approached by 3 steps), a very small window
above this; 2 square windows to the left and one to the right, all with
raised sills, altered glazing, and louvred pseudo-shutters), 4 similar
windows at 1st floor (2 to the 1st bay); 2 small recessed 2-light mullioned
windows at 2nd floor; raised verges to the roof; brick chimney-on the ridge
in line with the door, stone chimney at left gable. Single-bay addition at
right-hand end, not of special interest. Rear has, inter alia, similar 2nd-
floor windows (one blocked).
Interior: series of 4 large lateral beams at ground and 1st floors; very
large chimney stack; lime-ash floor to storage attic. (Reference: RCHM pp
